On April 26 the Royal Castle in Warsaw hosted the ceremony of the 5th edition of the GrandFront best press cover contest, organized by the Polish Chamber of Press Publishers, as well as the official opening of the accompanying exhibition. Just as a year ago, Stora Enso Polska was among the sponsors of the contest, founding the award in the Opinion Magazine Category. For the company, the ceremony was also an opportunity to meet its current and potential customers and host them at a special stand.

The GrandFont contest has been organized by the Polish Chamber of Press Publishers since 2003. It is the most important event promoting designs of newspaper front pages and magazine covers in Poland. The prestige of this event for Polish publishers is reflected in a huge number of submitted works, which exceeded 370, in that almost 270 magazine covers. The 25-member jury conducted by Wieslaw Podkanski, President of the Polish Chamber of Press Publishers, chose the winners in several categories including two most important ones - GrandFront 2006 for The Best Newspaper Front Page and The Best Magazine Cover.
For the second time Stora Enso Polska sponsored the awards in the very prestigious Opinion Magazine Category. Piotr Kuzebski, Managing Director of Stora Enso Polska, and Wieslaw Podkanski, President of the Polish Chamber of Press Publishers, presented the award to the representatives of the “Przekroj” magazine whose issue 23/24 edition’s cover, designed by MaÅ‚gorzata Laska, was awarded. Additionally, the covers of  “Forum”, “Newsweek”, “Polityka” and “Wprost” magazines were awarded diplomas.

Stora Enso is one of the biggest world producers of publication papers used e.g. for newspaper and magazine printing. Therefore it’s obvious that many of the covers submitted and awarded in the GrandFront 2006 contest had been printed on its products. In my opinion a big share of newspapers and magazines printed on our papers and submitted to the GrandFront contest reflects the position of Stora Enso in the Polish press market. We are a leading player in this field in Poland and such events as the Polish Chamber of Press Publishers contest are a perfect place to meet our partners and customers. That’s why we decided to support this event once again – says Piotr Kuzebski.
The visitors were informed about the Stora Enso’s products when visiting the special stand situated near the exhibition presenting awarded covers. The information materials concerning different products offered by the Scandinavian company, especially newsprint and magazine papers, were available at the stand as well.
